DR. ASHOK KUMAR
He graduated in 1983 in Geology (Honours) with a first class from Patna University (PU), Patna. He completed a three-year M.Sc. Tech course in Applied Geophysics in 1986 with the first class from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India. In the year 1987, I also received research fellowships from the Council of Scientific Industrial Research (CSIR). He worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the DST project at ISM, Dhanbad.
He has been awarded a PhD (1999) in the area of hydrogeology by the Faculty of Science, PU, Patna. He has published or presented over 68 scientific papers.
UNDP Fellow (through the Dept. of Science & Technology) at CSIRO/CGS Perth, Australia in the year 2000 for GIS-based Groundwater Modeling (2000).
He has more than 33 years of experience in groundwater exploration (geophysical, geo-hydrological, remote sensing, and GIS based), well field and well design, waste disposal well, groundwater information systems, Flow-Solute Transport-Reactive modelling in hard rock, alluvial plain, marginal alluvial plain, and sedimentary basins (shallow and deep aquifer), and selective experience in using flow and solute trajectories. Considerable experience in project evaluation, supervision, and implementation. In addition, he is a resource person for groundwater modelling courses, as well as a reviewer of academic journals and research projects.
